For coaches
Set up your team
DebateFlow trains your parent judges. You build one checklist, send one link, and see who has finished.
What a coach gets
Two pages, and both are about your parent judges:
- Team — your team, the training your parents work through, and the invites.
- Parent progress — who has finished which step.
That is the whole coach account. There are no student accounts, and no round data of any kind on your screen: not a ballot, not a decision, not a transcript. Everything DebateFlow works out about a round reaches your debaters through the judge's ballot, and only after the judge has written and sent it.
Ask for coach access
Coach access is given by hand. There is no sign-up form yet.
Contact us with the email address you sign in with. Once it is on, Team appears in the top bar.
Coach access is its own thing. Having any other kind of access does not include it.
Create your team
You do this once.
- Tap Team in the top bar.
- Type a Team name. Your parents see this name and its initials on their checklist. Up to 80 characters.
- Event is Public Forum. Lincoln-Douglas is coming later.
- First tournament and Tournament date are optional. Parents see a countdown to the date.
- Tap Create team.
Creating the team also builds your training and your parents' join link. One team per coach — you cannot make a second one.
You can change every one of these later on your team page.
Then do these three things
- Build the training — your intro video, your note, and which steps you require.
- Invite your parents — by email, by link, or with a QR code.
- See who is ready to judge — one row per parent.
Build the training first. Your parents can open the checklist as soon as they have the link, so send the invites last.
What you can see, and what you cannot
You see progress: which steps a parent said they finished, and when. You never see what any judge decided in any round, practice or real.
That is not a setting. The pages and the data behind them have no way to reach a round.
